Our old boatshed was demolished in October 2010, all boats and equipment were removed to secure storage off-site.

New Boathouse Appeal

We are a financially independent charity and receive No statutory funding whatsoever, our activities are run entirely by a team of hard working, dedicated volunteers.

During the 2010 season, we provided activities for almost 2000 children and adult visitors with disabilities. This included 9 Special Schools attending on a regular basis, various groups from around the country and the Government Aiming High short breaks scheme for children with disabilities.

We desperately need ‘your help’ to build a new fully accessible boathouse to provide the independence, dignity and privacy for all who live with disability.

Financing the New Boathouse

At a total cost of £436k the new Boathouse will be a flagship designed and equipped for those who live with disability. The new £46k wheelchair friendly slipway has been constructed (Latest Newsletter), this along with Members input to the build and with donations in kind already promised amounts to £166k leaving a sum of £270k to raise.

The Buy-A-Brick Campaign.

Donations may be used during the build or to equip the building when completed.  
Donor’s names will be engraved on a board displayed within the building. Bricks will
vary in size depending on the size of the donation. The minimum donation is £5. Your
name will appear on a brick along with 4 others. Other donations are: £25, £100, £250
and £500. You may give any sum you wish over £5.

If you are a taxpayer and you sign a Gift Aid Declaration, anything you give will attract
at least an additional 25% for the Charity.
You give £100 - we claim at least a further £25 from the Government.
